This season, brides are turning away from elegant perfectionism, and instead opting for a more organic aesthetic for their wedding decor. Specifically, they’re asking for a ‘Garden Chic’ theme that seems to be heavily influenced by Pantone’s colour of the year: Greenery [read more about this here].
The idea for this trend is to deconstruct the florals; to make it look like you just walked through an overgrown garden and hand-picked your fill. This means naked-stem bouquets and loose table arrangements bursting with greenery. For colour, rich floral accents such as merlot, red and fuchsia flowers are helping to enhance this Garden Chic theme.
Against all this green, brides are choosing muted linen tones to create a light base for the greenery to pop, such as blush, candlelight glow, and ivory satins. Our designers are then bringing in earthy silver, gold and rose gold accents to tie it all together with a touch of elegance.
It’s a little bit country, a little bit cottage, and a little bit glam!
There are some very distinct trends making their presence known in event designs this season. The first and foremost is Pantone’s Colour of the Year: Greenery!
This particular yellow-green colour is being embraced by designers as a strong accent, and even as the primary colour for their designs. It’s a modern and non-traditional idea that will be seen in many events this season. Not only is the colour being embraced, but the concept of incorporating greenery is especially strong. Some of the ways we’re working Greenery into events includes silk floral arches, event grass carpeting and green centerpieces featuring leaves, vines and mosses.
Trees and Branches
Playing off Pantone’s colour of the year is a trend that’s been around for a while, but is really picking up steam this season. Using trees and tree props in event decor brings in the feeling of nature, and gives a charming twist to elegant decor.
We recently added to our Manzanita tree collection to expand the options available to clients who have increasingly been asking for these additions to their design. We now offer white, silver and natural manzanitas in various sizes to accommodate this beautiful trend, and these can also be painted to fit the style of any event. We also see a lot more branches being used to create a rustic aesthetic, and have requests for cherry blossom trees and wishing trees, all of which we offer.
